Advisory Committee Member – HIV Community Link is seeking 3 to 5 HIV+ community members to provide formal community input into a newly formed Peer Program that will include: a full-time Peer Program Coordinator, 2 volunteer Peer Navigators and 2 volunteer Peer Support Group Facilitators.
HEAT Advisory Committee Member
The HEAT (HIV Education and Awareness Today) program is seeking to engage community members in an Advisory Committee of Gay and MSM from the Calgary area. The Committee will contribute expertise, insight and advice into the ongoing planning and development of HEAT programming. In this manner, we ensure that HEAT remains relevant and responsive to the emerging needs of Calgary’s diverse Gay/Bi/MSM/Trans community.
Board Member – A Director at HIV Community Link (HIVCL) is accountable to the membership for effective governance of the organization and advocacy for its mission, to the funders and donors for the financial responsibility of the agency, and to the community for the mission, vision, strategic direction and outcomes of the organization.
Condom Packing – If you’re looking for a fun and simple way to give back to HIV Community Link you can join us for our monthly Volunteer Activity Night! Join us on the last Wednesday of every month, where you’ll help us pack our condom packs which are distributed across the city in bars, community centres, and at special events to promote safer sex and provide information on testing options in Calgary!
Events – HIV Community Link holds many events throughout the year that need the helping hands of volunteers to help see through the success of the project. Whether it would be our Splash of Red Fundraiser, or the Scotiabank AIDS Walk and Run, volunteers are the backbone to executing successful events.
Host a Fundraiser – Whether you want to host a potluck, a special event, office fundraiser, bottle drive or holiday gathering, we’re happy to provide you with the right materials and support to ensure your event is a success!
Office Support – There are many administrative tasks that you can help us complete. From filling in at reception, to data entry, we could always use helping hands around the office.

From there, we check your interests and contact you directly to ensure we can match you to the volunteer opportunity that best fits with your interests and schedule. Once we have made contact, we provide education and training opportunities that cover HIV and related topics, stigma and current statistics.
